Postpartum Offerings

Closing the Bones

A deeply nurturing postpartum ritual to honour and support your transition into motherhood.

Closing the Bones is a traditional postpartum practice used in many cultures around the world to support women after pregnancy and birth. It is a gentle ceremony designed to help the body and mind settle after pregnancy, birth and the profound experience of becoming a mother.

Using gentle massage, warmth and the wrapping of the body with rebozos, the ceremony symbolically and physically supports the body to “close” after the openness of pregnancy and birth.

This can be a powerful moment for mothers to pause, be cared for, and reflect on their birth and early postpartum journey.

What to expect

Your Closing the Bones session is a private, unhurried experience designed to help you rest and feel supported.

The ceremony may include:

• Gentle bodywork and massage followed by herbal bath
• Belly, hip and body wrapping using rebozo
• Warmth and grounding practices
• Time to reflect on your birth and postpartum experience with included birth reflection

4 hr, in-home traditional healing

Birth can be a powerful and complex experience. For some women, it can leave questions, confusion or difficult feelings that are hard to make sense of.

Birth reflection sessions offer a gentle space to talk through your birth story, piece together what happened and feel heard and supported. Available in-home or via teams.
